History
The Caprice II has been sailing on the Lac de Joux, which is the largest body of water in the Jura massif, since 1977. It is classified among the most beautiful means of transport by Swiss Heritage . Recently renovated, this historic boat, born in 1949 in Ticino, takes its passengers on a journey to discover the beauties of the shores of Lac de Joux − either for its regular service or for private races.

The restoration of the landing stage of La Roche Fendue located in the Municipality of Lieu de Dom Poncet.
In 1889, the shipping company operated a landing stage at La Roche Fendue. The federal map of topography of 1892 specifies it, vestiges are still visible today.
At that time, there were 7 landing stages around the Lac de Joux. Currently, the municipalities of Chenit and that of the Abbey have one or two pontoons on their territory.
Located in the commune of Lieu de Dom Poncet, La Roche Fendue is a mythical place accessible only by boat or on foot from the village and by the edge of the lake. We readily say that it’s a bit like the Rütli combier.
The reconstruction of the landing stage of La Roche Fendue will offer an additional asset for dropping off walkers and hikers, giving them various possibilities for hiking around the Lac de Joux or on the ridges.
The Navigation Company reminds users to wear closed shoes necessary for walking on a mountain footpath.

Route
The starting point for Caprice II’s cruises is in the village of Le Pont, 100 meters from the CFF station. Parking spaces are available near the dock. The boat heads to the left bank towards La Roche Fendue (optional stop). Then, after a stop at Rocheray, Caprice II departs towards Les Bioux for an optional stop depending on weather conditions and the lake’s water level, before heading back to the right bank towards Le Pont.
